The third and last movie in the Fixer Upper movie series and honestly that is a shame. I really dug this series. The mysteries might not have been the greatest and relied on a bit too many Hallmark movie tropes but the cast was great. It is rare for these Hallmark movies to have a cast that actually clicks so when it does happen I am a fan.

Someone literally quotes a Jewel song to freakin’ Jewel 🤯 Sorry, I mean Shannon, the licensed contractor/unlicensed private detective played by singer-songwriter Jewel.
You know what Jewel’s/Shannon’s response is to this lyric drop? “Hmm… it’s ringing a bell, I think I heard it in a song, once…”
You did Jewel. You did. Cause you wrote it.
The Fixer Upper movies are perhaps, the greatest trilogy, nay, the perfect trilogy of films in cinema history.
Now excuse me while I fix my kitchen cabinets and find Jimmy Hoffa’s body.

Jewel can do no wrong!! I totally thought this trilogy was going to suck but I genuinely enjoyed it. This feels like very top tier Hallmark movie.

"We prefer to deal in facts here, so..."
The series works its way back into a tired plot thread that is a bit too predictable and introduces annoying child actors along the way. The story is not very interesting as the character who is killed isn't a good person and you don't empathize with any of the suspects as they're all really shady for some reason. Obvious Wonderful Life reference aside, the cast doesn't feel as organic as it did in the previous film.
Jewel is only getting better at acting as the series progresses, but I feel that saddling Colin Ferguson's character with a teenager really brought out the Eureka style acting in him. I still love watching him…

The usual from Hallmark - a nice, clean mystery, this time starring Jewel and Colin Ferguson.
I wouldn't call it original, with the meanest man in town named Potter, just as in "It's a Wonderful Life." Jewel is Shannon, in charge of turning a repossessed Victorian mansion into low-cost housing. One problem is that the bank manager (the aforementioned Potter) doesn't like the terms. Then he's found dead.
Plenty of people wanted him dead, so Shannon gets to work trying to sort it out, using her deducting skills.
This has all the qualities of a Hallmark film: it's slow, takes place in a small town, the people are nice-looking, there's no bad language, and no sex.
Pleasant.

The third and final Fixer Upper, which is a shame, I guess. Though I'm not sure how many more renovation-adjacent clues they could think of (this one had warped bathroom tiles proving an attempted flooding..) (oh, and Jewel used her fixer upper know-how to unhinge a locked door)

Everyone in this movie is insanely attractive while giving the worst performance of their life.

Don't you love it when you input a film into letterboxd and realise you've watched the 3rd film of a trilogy without watching the other two... not that we noticed during the film anyway.
This film brings the comfort of a hallmark film; easy to follow, predictable and is intertwined with the stereotypical love interest.
Good to put on if you just want a cosy film that you don't have to concentrate much on.

I was violently ill during this - this isn’t a reflection on the film, I just don’t know how to rate TV movies.
